David has his PhD in physics, the son of a chemist, professor at 2 different collages, retired Methodist minister, knows music theory, can tune a piano, and play hymns, classical music, and Maple Leaf Ragtime by memory. He is the founder of The Center of Aromatherapy Research and Education (CARE). It was he who introduced me to Young Living essential oils and became my teacher, mentor, and Friend. We taught together, ate together, and laughed together, fought a couple of times. Whenever he came in a room where I was, I would run up to him and we’d hug and he is the only man other than Mer allowed to kiss me on the lips. After much training we taught for CARE once a month for 11 years from as far North as Prince Edward Island, as far East as New Brunswick, most of the New England, all of the Northern Eastern Seaboard, Ohio, Ontario, Kentucky , Missouri, and Utah. Mer taught Chemistry from David book “Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple”. After which students couldn’t wait to go home and read their Chemistry Books. We also taught Healing oils of the Bible, Vitaflex, Raindrop, and Emotional Release. We were there in the beginning of CARE when chemistry was a large sheaf of papers and Emotional Release’s protocol wasn’t formulated. I was encouraged by Marie from Colorado to become certified to teach Emotional Release “You’re a natural” “I don’t know…” but I went home with my notes, read, and studied all the books – one of which most people didn’t understand. But I did. There was another book I read and studied. At the end of the book was a list of emotions – negative to be exchanged for positive. I couldn’t read the list at first, putting the book down, trying again, putting the book down, and again, “Mer I can’t read this book!” He told me to put on White Angelica. White Angelica is a go-to oil for me – it helps me from taking on other people’s emotional issues. It worked and then it wasn’t a problem anymore. Finally, I was ready to be supervised and taught my first class. Marie was ecstatic – I did a good Job. A little while later we were in Missouri at the Summit where all the instructors were required to meet once a year. Marie excitedly told David how I taught. “Well you can teach that way if you want but you don’t have to.” So, I did for all the years. One year I taught after the Convention in Utah. It was a huge class where there were people from many nations, cultures and religions. Most understood and could speak English. I invited the CARE instructors who wanted to come and didn’t charge them. At the end of the class one of the instructors came up to me crying. She said she was teaching Emotional Release but really didn’t understand it like I taught. “I’m going to teach it like you do.” I was embarrassed and didn’t know what to say so I just hugged her.
